eric_ravilious_train_carriage_3Eric Ravilious was friends with Edward Bawden, who he met at the Royal College of Art where they both studied. They were both official war artists dring the second world war. He depicts the English landscape with great affection and shares Bawden’s graphic eye for composition. His wood engravings are very fine too.
