1951 book ‘The Unsophisticated Arts’ . Enid Marx and Margaret Lambert, whose collection of fabrics and folk art are at compton verney, and Barbara Jones were so influential in making people aware of the vitality of the vernacular arts tradition in Britain during the 1950’s.
